A New Spectacle

Hitting all streaming platforms on the 25th of November, my new single ‘Do You’ prod by Jack Marlow. I chose ‘Do you’ as the track's title because it's a message to my audience and a reminder to myself to live in the moment and be myself, do what makes you happy rather than placing it in the hands of other people. often I find that I enter this trans-like state where most times im this video vixen out of a 2008 music video unleashing passionate-filled moves, but the trip is how real it feels. In the first verse, I call that feeling a mirage which relates to how I want to give myself the self-validation to feel worthy and important and deserving to feel good even when my circumstances may not be what I desire.
In this song, I discuss confidence and ego where I find it, and where I feel like I have to borrow it from past versions of myself. but overall it has a lot to do with healing childhood traumas on the flip side I validate myself by going after what I want, I want to be a boss okay done I'm building a business, I want a fancy car, sweet! Let's learn to drive. In the past, I used to substance abuse to calm my social anxiety in hopes of getting liquid
courage. Becoming the life of the party was something I was back in my secondary school days but I guess I could no longer live out that part of my life since I was transitioning into a new chapter. Resisting that change eventually it caught up with me causing my anxiety to override any substance leading me to stop drinking and smoking altogether.
My way out was inward. As an artist my purpose is to tell a story, it may come across as a bright and uplifting melody but holds a deeper meaning and I think that reflects me. Rather than me explaining why I would rather show it through my creative work while narrating the behind-the-scenes nitty gritty. Keep up to date with me on my website where I walk you through the story of each song released so far.
